RAF Wyton is a well known bomber base, dating from WW2, and is perhaps best known for it's history as a V-bomber base. Valiants and Victors were based here during the 1960's. |
More recently, Wyton became the RAF's main Canberra base, but sadly, flying has now virtually ceased, and all of the operational flying units have been disbanded or relocated. |
The base is still used for communication flights for nearby RAF Brampton, but most of the activity confined to light aircraft, microlights, and model aircraft. |
The main runway, which was extended for V-Bombers, could still be used if necessary, so Wyton may still have a use, sometime in the future. |
Any aircraft which are visible in the screenshots, are only AI aircraft, and are not included with the scenery. The AFCAD2 file however, will be available as a free download. |
