The site at Raf Leuchars was first used for Aviation as far back as 1911, but the Fleet Air Arm started operations here in 1918. During World War 2, Coastal Command used Beaufighters and Beauforts as well as Hudsons and Mosquitoes. |

|
Post war, The RAF operated Meteors, Vampires, Javelins, and Hunters from the airfield. This was followed by a long period as the Northern base of the Lightning and an equally long period with F4 Phantoms, before they were replaced by todays F3 Tornado's. |

This scenery is set in the latter days of Phantom operations. A free update with F3 Tornado's is now available. Download the free update. |

The buildings and layout of the technical, and domestic sites are intended to recognise the fact that this type of station could not function without the support of the many trades and functions such as catering, stores, and administration etc. These buildings and layout are not intended to be an accurate representation of this particular station. |
