The airifeld originally opened in 1944 as a Royal Air Force Coastal Command station, but became more closely associated with flying training after the war. The Station has long been responsible for air weapons training, in company with Chivenor and Valley. |

The scenery contains hangars, control tower, technical and domestic buildings, Bomb Dump, static Hawks, Hunters, and Jet Provosts. all of which were associated with the station, as well as dynamic aircraft flying the circuit, and ground service vehicles |
The buildings and layout of the technical, and domestic sites are intended to recognise the fact that this type of station could not function without the support of the many trades and functions such as catering, stores, and administration etc. These buildings and layout are not intended to be an accurate representation of this particular station. |
