The airfeld originally opened  as a Royal  Air  Force,
WW2 bomber station, operating Whitleys, and Halifax's.

Leeming later became established as a fighter station
using Javelin's and  Canberra trainers.

The station then transferred to training command,
and for many years operated the Jet Provost.

After a major overhaul, Leeming reopened as a front line
fighter base in 1988 with Tornado F3's.

      Leeming is now home to No's 11 & 25 Sqn's,
 and No 100 Sqn Hawks

The scenery contains 5 C1 type hangars, the original control tower, as well as the new control tower which is locally    referred to as the "Happy Eater".
The buildings of the technical and domestic area's are included,  although this area is  intended to be purely representative of the type of buildings present
at RAF airfields and not accurate for any particular station.

The buildings and layout of this area are intended to
recognise the fact  that this type of  station
could not function without  the support of the many trades
and functions  such as catering, stores,
 and  administration etc.

The scenery contains static F3 Tornado's,
a couple of visiting Canberra's, and ground vehicles

This scenery is compatible with
the VF\JF\GM VFR scenery
