The airfeld originally opened as a Royal Air Force, WW2 bomber station, operating Whitleys, and Halifax's. Leeming later became established as a fighter station using Javelin's and Canberra trainers. |

The station then transferred to training command, and for many years operated the Jet Provost. |

|
After a major overhaul, Leeming reopened as a front line fighter base in 1988 with Tornado F3's. Leeming is now home to No's 11 & 25 Sqn's, and No 100 Sqn Hawks |

The scenery contains 5 C1 type hangars, the original control tower, as well as the new control tower which is locally referred to as the "Happy Eater". The buildings of the technical and domestic area's are included, although this area is intended to be purely representative of the type of buildings present at RAF airfields and not accurate for any particular station. |

The buildings and layout of this area are intended to recognise the fact that this type of station could not function without the support of the many trades and functions such as catering, stores, and administration etc. |

The scenery contains static F3 Tornado's, a couple of visiting Canberra's, and ground vehicles This scenery is compatible with the VF\JF\GM VFR scenery |
