After the war, Benson became a major transport base, and home to the large fleet of Argosy aircraft. The Queens flight was also based here for many years, with Andovers,
 BAe 146's, and Wessex.

Recently, the station has become home to the Puma fleet, as well as the University of London Air Squadron, the Oxford University Air Squadron, and No 6 Air Experience Flight.
